Qualifications

JHC staff are licensed professionals with qualified Certified Construction Specifiers (CCS) and Construction Document Technologists (CDT) with up to 35 years individual experience. JHC possesses the knowledge and experience in automated computer processes including AIA Masterworks, LINX, CSI Spectext, Perspective (performance and design build), SpecsIntact (Military specifications), and Speclink. JHC can adapt office master specifications to be used with standard or customized automation for ease and efficiency for in-house preparation of specs.

John Horner, PE, CCS, principal of the firm, produces and instructs a training course entitled “Specifications for Construction Contracts”, a 40 hr seminar offered to architects and engineers periodically throughout US. He has been a speaker and presenter at CSI National Convention.  Mr Horner served as manager of the specifications dept of a national top 20 A/E firm and a chief specifier for a Corps of Engineers Distsrict Office.  He is licensed professional engineer and is experienced in Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, & Structural Specification disciplines.

As the sole custodian of one of the nations largest retailers, JHC overhauled and maintained the master specification system and brought into alignment to national standards, the engineering and architectural specifications and procurement documents used by the company.
